J*** to Shahed

Dear Shahed,

I hope this letter finds you well! I’m J*** and I am currently in the 9th grade at Pingry. I live in New Jersey, but I also go to the Outer Banks in North Carolina every year to hang out at the beach and be with my family. My favorite things to do in New Jersey are the boardwalks by the beach, the malls, and the amusement parks. What do you like to do in your free time?

A few of my hobbies include baking, running, hiking, and talking to my friends and family. I like to bake cakes and cookies. I also run on my high school team. My favorite events to run are distant events like the 1 mi/1.6 km and the 5km race. What activities do you like to do? I also have two dogs and one cat, and they always make my day when I get home in the afternoon.

Every year, my family and I go to a parade on July 4th. We eat hot dogs, hamburgers, and corn, which are typical foods to eat on July 4th. The parade has a lot of people, and they close almost all of the streets in our town for it! It is a very fun and interesting event, and I always have a great time.

I also enjoy listening to music. My favorite music is modern music from the 2000s and 2010s. I enjoy popular music, as well as rock and rap. Do you enjoy listening to music? What do you enjoy listening to?
