Dear Mulumba,

My name is P*** and I am Chinese and American. I take the French course at school but my French is not good. I hope you will understand this letter. 😁If you notice any grammar errors or confusing sentences, please let me know. I am still a beginner in French.

I prefer playing soccer, playing the piano and reading history. Do you like sports? Then I read a lot of books. My favorite book is called The Inheritance Games, which translates to Le Jeu de L’HĆ©ritage in French. It is about a rich family and a grandfather who is very intelligent.

My parents came from China, and they think it's important for me to understand my heritage and my culture. From an early age, I learned to speak Chinese. We also eat Chinese food for dinner. My favorite dish is a spicy hot pot. The hotpot has a tasty soup base and you put different raw vegetables, meat and noodles in the soup to cook it. I really like this dish because it brings my family together when we all sit around the table enjoying a hotpot.

The most important holiday for us is Chinese New Year, which we celebrated recently, and our school even held a Chinese New Year assembly where we shared our culture with everyone. What is your favorite party?

I like to learn about other cultures and do not hesitate to ask questions about my culture or my life in America. I'm here for you whether you need someone to talk to, are confused by our American culture, or just need someone to listen. I look forward to hearing from you!

Sincerely,

P***
